Life Legacy
Richard A. Gere, 78, of Meriden, formerly of Wallingford, beloved husband of Marilyn A. Williams Gere, died, Sunday, April 29, 2012, at the Meriden Center.
Born in Meriden, November 28, 1933, he was a son of the late Andrew Gere and Cecelia V. Bukowski Gere and had been a Wallingford resident for many years until moving to Meriden. He had served and enlistment with the U. S. Army and was employed for many years at the former Andy;s Sunoco Station in Wallingford.
Besides his wife Marilyn, he is survived by many cousins. He was predeceased by his brother Andrew Gere.
His family will receive relatives and friends in The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main Street, Ext., Wallingford, Wednesday May 2, 2012, from 9 a.m. until 9:45 a.m. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 10 a.m. Interment will be in SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery in Wallingford. In lieu of flowers, gifts in his memory may be sent to St. John’s Lutheran Church, 520 Paddock Ave., Meriden, CT 06450 or to the American Diabetes Association of CT, 306 Industrial Park Rd., Suite 105, Middletown, CT 06457.
