Life Legacy
age 82, Town of Greenville, died on Thursday, February 2, 2012, at his residence after a brief illness. He was born on December 21, 1929, in the Town of Greenville, son of the late Roland and Ella (Fetzer) Jack. On February 21, 1950, he was united in marriage to Patricia Dorn at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Appleton. Eric was a 4th generation farmer on the family century farm. He was a retired member of the Hortonville/Greenville Volunteer Fire Department. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and a member of S.S. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Hortonville. Eric enjoyed fishing and spending time at their cottage on Lake Winneconne. Many family and friends share happy memories of being gathered around the kitchen table playing cards with Eric. Whenever anyone stopped by for a visit the cards were shuffled and ready to be dealt.
Survivors include his wife of almost 62 years, Patricia; children: Bonnie (Jerry) Miller, Hortonville; Steven (Cathy) Jack, Hortonville; Tom (Barb) Jack, Sherwood; Randy (Debbie) Jack, Appleton; Debbie Jack, Hortonville; son-in-law: Brian Strey, New London; grandchildren: Tammy Miller (fiancé Chris Borelli); Tracy Miller; Tonya (Kevin) Schram and children, Elijah, Hunter, and Hannah; Travis (Brittany) Jack and children, Levi and Garrett; Tim (Brooke) Jack; Spencer and Brenna Jack; Jesse (Rachel) Jack and children, Bo, Eeva, Gabriella, Prestin, Bailee, and Aris; Jamie Jack; Derek (Kristy) Jack and children, Emily and Eli; Chris (Katie) Jack and son, Colin; Rob (Kristin) Jack and daughter, Kaylee; Tara Strey (fiancé Derek Respalje); Theresa Strey; and Tyler Strey; two sisters: Veryl Warning and Joyce Hoerig; sisters-in-law: Eunice Brockman; Florence Woldt; Rosella Ernst; Charlotte Koerner; Bea (Eugene) Otto; Dorothy Dorn; Marilyn Dorn; and Joyce Dorn; brothers-in-law: Larry (Billie Jean) Dorn and Donald (Mary Lou) Dorn. Many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends further survive Eric.
He is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Brenda Strey; and brothers and sisters in-law.
The family would like to thank the Greenville First Responders, the nurses and staff on the 7th floor at Appleton Medical Center for their compassion and wonderful care. Our thanks to Dr. Levielle, Dr. Bar Lev, Dr. Hauserman, Dr. Klinkhammer, and the others who consulted in the care of Eric.
The Funeral Mass for Eric will be held on Saturday, February 4, 2012, at 11:30 a.m. at S.S. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Hortonville with Rev. Msgr. Jim Feely and Parish Director Greg Layton officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call directly at the church on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
