Jerald A. Jentz

March 10, 1925 - March 6, 2012

Age 86 of Greenville, passed into eternal life unexpectedly on March 6, 2012. Jerald was born on March 10, 1925, to Emil and Marie (Ort) Jentz in the township of Ellington. On October 20, 1945, he was united in marriage to Irene Beyer. He farmed in the town of Greenville until his sons took over. He then started Jentz Sand & Gravel with his son, Tom. Jerald served on the church council at Immanuel Lutheran Church and the school board of Cedar Grove School for many years. He also served on the Greenville town board from 1971 until he retired in 1993. For many years he led the Greenville homecoming parade riding his horse Bucky. Jerald enjoyed spending time at their cottage at Conover and elk hunting in Colorado.

Jerald is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Irene; four sons, Tom (June) Jentz, Jim (Deb) Jentz, Steve Jentz, and Jeff (Cindy) Jentz; daughter, Kris (Paul) Jandourek; grandchildren, Shane Jentz and Dr. Amy Jentz, Rory Jentz, Janelle Jentz, and Amanda (Dominic) La Pean, Christopher (Adrienne), Elainna, Mackenzie, Mollie, and Wyatt Jentz, Katie (Ed Davis Jr.) and Andrew Jandourek, Justin, Tyler, Holly, and Stephanie Jentz; four great-grandsons, Ryland and Trevin LaPean, Ward Davis, and Steven G. Jentz. He is further survived by two sisters-in-law, Virginia Beyer and Elaine Jentz; and many other nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Evelyn Huebner, Mildred Hoier, and Joyce Ziegler; three brothers, Lloyd, Harlan and Vernon Jentz; seven brothers-in-law and three sisters-in-law.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 10, 2012, at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, W7265 School Road Greenville, WI 54942 with Rev. Joel Heckendorf officiating. Family and friends may call directly at the church Saturday morning from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Now Dad can look down on his beloved Colorado and listen to the elk bugling and watch the deer at the cottage in Conover. He is celebrating his 87th birthday in heaven eating Dairy Queen ice cream cake.

The family would like to thank the Greenville first responders.
