BiographyJimmy R. Parrish, Sr., of Center Point Road, Temple, passed away Thursday, January 10, 2008, in an Atlanta hospital, following a brief illness. He was born in Carroll County, August 28, 1941, son of Mildred Wester Parrish and the late L. R. Parrish. Mr. Parrish was a member of the Center Point United Methodist Church and a charter member of the Jones Barbecue Restaurant BreakfastClub. Besides his father, Mr. Parrish was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Kelsy Parrish. Survivors include mother, Mildred Wester Parrish Temple; son, Jimmy R. Parrish, Jr. of Temple; sister, Joan Cain of Decatur; brothers, Ralph Parrish and Lawrence Parrish both of Temple; grandchildren, Maria Parrish and Jake Parrish of Temple and a loving companion, Sonya Nordholm of Temple. Services will be Sunday, January 13 at 3:00 P.M. from the Center Point United Methodist Church with Rev. Jimmy Bryan and Rev. Jamie Rollins officiating. Music will be furnished by Amy Rollins. Chris Parrish, Justin Parrish, Kyle Parrish, Ralph Parrish, Ed Federer, Jimmy Summerville, Lawrence Parrish and Johnny Levans will serve as pallbearers. The Breakfast Club Members will serve as honorary pallbearers. Interment will follow in Center Point Cemetery. Mr. Parrish will lie in state at the church Sunday from 2:30 until 3:00 P.M. Family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. Church
