Biography

Walter J. Knurowski, age 81, of Mount Morris, passed away Tuesday afternoon, Sept. 6, 2011 at Berlin Memorial Hospital. He was born Nov. 6, 1929 at Abrams, Wisconsin the son of Albert and Anna (Perdonia) Knurowski. He married the former Delphine Bialk on June 19, 1954 in Milwaukee. She preceded him in death on Oct. 12, 2005. He served his country in the Army during the Korean War and received the Bronze Korean Service Medal. Walter was employed by the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District for many years until his retirement. He enjoyed the outdoors especially hunting, fishing, and cutting wood. Walter also liked playing cards at the senior citizens center and going to casinos. Survivors include one daughter, Donna Gleaser (Bill), Two Rivers; two sons, Russell (Karen) Lashway, Princeton, Patrick (Judith) Knurowski, Princeton; eight grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren; two brothers, Eddie (Patsy) Knurowski, Milwaukee, Tony (Ruth) Knurowski, Racine; one sister, Theresa (Bill) Resch, Milwaukee. He is further survived by other relatives and friends too numerous to mention. A Tribute Service will be held on Sunday, Sept. 11, 2011 at 4:00 p.m. at
Leikness Funeral Home in Wautoma. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. until the time of services.
