Biography

Elnora Cannon Whiteley, 91, of Lawrenceville, NJ passed away Sunday, April 15, 2012 -- her 91st birthday -- at Compassionate Care Hospice in Trenton, NJ.

Born in Bridgeville, DE, she was a longtime resident of Ridley Park, PA before moving to the Methodist Manor House in Seaford, DE with her husband, George, who passed away in 2001. She moved into her son’s home in Lawrenceville, NJ in August 2011.

Daughter of the late Philip Abram and Nora Willey Cannon, she is survived by her son Louis C. Whiteley, and grandson Perry C. Whiteley, both of Lawrenceville, NJ; numerous nieces and nephews; and two sisters-in-law, Anne Taylor of Brookhaven, PA and Bettie Wenrich of Aston, PA.

She was predeceased by her siblings Medford Cannon, Delema Hoch, and Virgil Cannon formerly of Bridgeville; Hulda Jones formerly of Claymont; Alton Cannon formerly of Seaford; Norman Cannon formerly of Greenwood; and Elizabeth Meredith formerly of Federalsburg, MD.

Graveside Services will be held Sunday, April 22, 2012 at 2:00 PM, at Bridgeville Cemetery, Bridgeville, DE, with the Rev. Dr. Jervis Cooke presiding. Friends may call on Saturday evening, April 21 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Hardesty Chapel, 202 Laws Street, Bridgeville, DE.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, P.O. Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011.
