BiographyCharlon Hall McElroy "Mac", age 84, of Seaford, DE, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 30, 2012, at her residence with her loving family by her side; she was a resident of Seaford since 1951. She was born in Salisbury, MD, on October 9, 1927 daughter of the late Parley and Audrey (Cooper) Hall.Mrs. McElroy was a graduate of Bridgeville High School, Class of 1945 and a member of St. John's United Methodist Church of Seaford. She retired from Nanticoke Hospital as a Unit Secretary and then continued her service as a volunteer. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and Widow and Widowers of Seaford; she enjoyed the many day trips she took with her fellow members and friends. Through the years, she was a member of the J. C. Pool, Nanticoke Little League, Den Mother of Cub and Boy Scout Troop #182 at Mt. Olivet Church of Seaford. Mrs. McElroy also enjoyed sharing in Progressive Luncheons and Dinners with her many friends, attending cultural events, travelling with her family and most of all just being a wonderful Mom and Grandmother to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Charles H. McElroy, Sr. (1985). She is survived by her four children: Charles H. McElroy II and his wife Sharon of Bridgeville, Craig H. McElroy and wife Suzan of Berlin, MD, Carla H. Johnson and husband Greg N. of Laurel, DE and Caroline H. Milligan and husband Jay of Seaford; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Memorial Services will be held on Friday, May 4, 2012 at 1:00 P.M. at St. John's United Methodist Church, Pine and Poplar Streets, Seaford, DE with the Rev. Richard Evans and Rev. George Godfrey co-officiating. Friends may call at the church, Wesley Lounge, beginning at 12:00 Noon. Interment will follow the service at Odd Fellows Cemetery, Stein Highway and Market Street, Seaford. Arrangements by Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Bridgeville, DE.
