Life Legacy
Hughes Springs, TX– Funeral services for Velma Barton Kerr, 94, of Hughes Springs, will be at 2:00 pm, Sunday, February 27, 2011 at the Reeder-Davis Funeral Home Chapel with. Bro. Larry Neely officiating. Interment will be in Hughes Springs Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home. Visitation will be 6 to 8 pm Saturday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Kerr was born April 25, 1916 in Cass County, Texas, to Roscoe and Ila Mae Shaddix Barton. She passed away Wednesday, February 23, 2011, in a Hughes Springs nursing home. She was a homemaker and a member of the Missionary Baptist church. Three husbands preceded her in death, Arvis Lee Green, Vernon Smith, and Mack Kerr; also, a daughter, Reba Joyce McDaniel; a grandson, Ricky McDaniel; and a granddaughter, Debra Barrett.
She is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Derial and Quincy Green of Hughes Springs; two sisters, Estelle Day and Peggy Oliver; a brother, Vernon Barton; four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild and several step-children.
