Life Legacy
Funeral services for Chester “Willie Ray” Hughes, 70, of Hughes Springs will be 1:00 P.M., Friday, January 13, 2012, at Rocky Mound C.M.E. Church, in Pittsburg. Burial will follow at Rocky Mound Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home, Inc., of Hughes Springs.
Chester “Willie Ray” Hughes was born April 1, 1941 in Rocky Mound, Pittsburg, TX to the late Monroe Hughes and Olethia Hughes-Hall and passed away January 8, 2012 at a Pittsburg Nursing Home. He attended Douglas High School and spent most of his adult life in Los Angeles, CA. Willie Ray served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.
Mr. Hughes was preceded in death by his wife Stella; brother George Hughes; sister Betty and brother-in-law Bobby Lee Woods.
Willie Ray leaves to cherish his memory, one daughter Raquel Hughes of Shreveport, LA; sons Reginald and Dimitri Hughes of Shreveport, LA, and Damion Hughes of Los Angeles, CA; seven grandchildren; two brothers Paul and Billy Hughes of Rocky Mound; and a host of nieces and nephews.
