February 28, 1934 - June 2, 2007

Doc Nielsen, 73, of Moffat, died Saturday, June 2, 2007 in a Temple hospital. Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 6, 2007 at the Scanio-Harper Funeral with Minister Scott Meyer officiating. Burial will be private. Mr. Nielsen was born February 28, 1934 in Electra, Texas to Carl Soren and Margie Lee Worley Nielsen. He moved to Whitney in 1947 and graduated from Whitney High School in 1952. He married Johnie Garrett in Temple on November 24, 1962. He was owner of Auto Damage Appraisers in Austin, retiring about ten years ago. He was a Methodist. Survivors include his wife, Johnie Nielsen of Moffat; two sisters, Joe Ann Dutton and Sherry Auten and husband Rex all of Whitney; one brother Pater A. Nielsen and wife Millie of Grand Rapids, Michigan. Memorials may be made to Austin Junior Golf, P.O. Box 5551, Austin, Texas 78763.
