Anthony Peter LaRussa, 86, of Wallingford, beloved husband of the late Grace Arrao LaRussa, died Saturday, August 13, surrounded by his loving family.

Anthony was born in Boston, MA, September 17, 1924, a son of the late Nicholas and Frances D’Amico LaRussa and was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II, where he served in the 752nd Railroad Operating Battalion. He retired as a supervisor from the Metro North Commuter Railroad in 1986 after 44 years of service. He was a parishioner of Our Lady of Fatima Church, and served as past State Commander of the Italian American War Veterans Association. He was also a member of American Legion – Siedlicki Post #187, the Disabled American Veterans Post #11, the National Association of Retired Veteran Railway Employees Inc., and the International Union of Transportation and Communications Workers.

He is survived by his daughter, Lillian Allen and her husband Robert of Wallingford; his two sons, Nicholas A. LaRussa and his wife Roxanne of Newark, DE, and Anthony J. LaRussa and his wife Ann, of Wallingford; his two grandchildren, Taylor Allen Dauksewicz and her husband Peter and Michael LaRussa and his girlfriend Jennifer Carlson; his great grandson, Gregory LaRussa; his sister-in-law, Mary LaRussa of South Boston, MA; his brother-in-law Salvatore Arrao and his wife Frances of Belmont, MA, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Francis J. LaRussa of South Boston, MA.

His family will receive relatives and friends in The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main St. Ext., Wallingford, Tuesday, August 16, from 9:15 a.m. until 10:15a.m. when the funeral cortege will proceed to Our Lady of Fatima Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Interment with military honors will be in the St. John Cemetery in Wallingford.
