Life Legacy
Rose Ann Escoto Dorau, 78, of Cheshire Road, Wallingford, died Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at the Meriden Center. She was the loving wife of William R. Dorau.
Rose was born in Wallingford, June 9, 1933, a daughter of the late Julius Escoto and Caroline Brunetti Escoto and had been a lifelong Wallingford resident. She had been a self-employed hairdresser, and had also been employed by several area hair salons.
Besides her husband Bill, she is survived by her son James J. Reig and his wife Linda of Meriden; her daughter Ann Marie Deal, of Wallingford; and her stepdaughter Debra Sulok and her husband Wayne of Meriden; her two sisters Dolores Stanton Weichsel and her husband John of Southington and Carolyn Terzi and her husband Al of Middletown; her brother Julius Escoto of Wallingford; her 5 grandchildren Shelby Reig, Christopher Reig, Derek Shumacher, Amber Shumacher and Martin Dorau; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her three nephews Matthew Escoto, Jason Escoto and Michael Terzi.
Her family will receive relatives and friends in The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main St. Ext., Thursday, January 5, 2012 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m., on Friday, January 6, directly in Most Holy Trinity Church, 84 North Colony St., Wallingford. Interment will be in the In Memoriam Cemetery in Wallingford. Gifts in her memory may be sent to the charity of one’s choice.
