Gordon A. Campbell, 84, of Wallingford, beloved husband of the late Arlene Benoit Campbell, died Sunday, April 29, 2012, at Hartford Hospital.

Born in Concord, New Hampshire, January 26, 1928, a son of the late Raymond Campbell and Leola Robinson Campbell, he had been a Meriden resident for many years until moving to Wallingford. Gordon was a veteran of World War II having served with the U. S. Army and had been employed by Pratt & Whitney Aircraft for many years until his retirement. He was a life member of the French Club of Meriden and an avid New York Yankees fan.

He is survived by his daughters, Wanda Disereits and her husband V.T., Lori Raymond, Pamela Johnson and her husband Bob and Heidi Campbell, all of Wallingford and Tina Janus and her husband Don of Rock Hill, SC; his son Michael Campbell of Fairview, OH; 14 grandchildren; a great granddaughter; his brother, Gerald Campbell of Meriden, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Virginia Richardson and three brothers, Roger, Warren and Wayne Campbell.

As requested by Gordon, funeral services and interment will be private. Arrangements are under the direction of The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main Street, Ext., Wallingford.
