DARRELL E. YORK

WALLINGFORD: Darrell E. York, 72, beloved husband of Mary (Palmero) York, of Wrinn Street, Wallingford, died Monday, December 19, 2005, at their residence.

Born in Smyrna, Maine, December 6, 1933, a son of the late Edwin and Cliasta (Shaw) York he had been a Wallingford resident for 47 years. Mr. York had been employed by the Wallingford Police Department, retiring as Deputy Chief after 32 years of service. He was a member of Compass Lodge No. 9 A. F. & A. M. of Wallingford, a life member of the Wallingford Rod & Gun Club and a member of the Guilford Sportsmen Association.

Besides his wife Mary, he is survived by his two daughters and sons-in-law, Karen and William Kiley, Jr. of Rockville, VA and Judith and Timothy Bengtson of Meriden; his son and daughter-in-law, Darrell York, Jr. and Rhonda York of Colchester; his four granddaughters, Katelyn Kiley, Madison Kiley, Carrigan Kiley and Danielle York; his four sisters; his three brothers, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers.

His family will receive relatives and friends in The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main Street, Ext., Wallingford, Wednesday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. A memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Most Holy Trinity Church, Thursday at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be in St. John Cemetery in Wallingford.
