LAWRENCE S. YANOFSKY

MERIDEN: Lawrence S. Yanofsky, 56, of Old Colony Road, Meriden, died Thursday, June 14, 2007, surrounded by his loving wife Sandra K. Matuskiewicz Yanofsky and his children, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born in Hartford, October 25, 1950, a son of the late Joseph and Elizabeth Forman Yanofsky, he had been a Bloomfield resident for many years until moving to Meriden 12 years ago. He was employed by the Pratt & Whitney Aircraft in East Hartford for many years until his illness, and was a veteran of the U. S. Army having served during the Viet Nam War. His interests included, music, being a D. J., and camping, where he met his loving wife and best friend.

Besides his wife Sandra, he is survived by his sons, Joseph Yanofsky of East Hartford, and Michael Williams of Meriden; his daughter, Heather Williams Tassmer and her husband Jeffrey of Colchester; his grandchildren, Elijah, Drew and Jordyn Tassmer; his sisters, Andrea Smith and her husband Michael of North Haven, Ellen Faircloth and her husband Jerry of Vernon; his brother, Martin Yanofsky and his wife Audrey of Newington; his mother-in-law, Jessie Matuskiewicz of Wallingford; his brother-in-law, Greg Matuskiewicz and his wife Betty of North Carolina and several nieces and nephews,

His family will receive relatives and friends in The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main Street, Ext., Wallingford, Sunday, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Graveside funeral services will be held Monday, at 11 a.m. in SS.
