Biography

Marjorie Baldwin Crouch, age 93 of Madisonville, passed away on Monday, July 4, 2011 in Marshall, Texas. She was born on March 13, 1918 in Elgin, Utah to Dennis E. & Myrle (Dufford) Baldwin. She grew up in Moab, Utah but lived most of her life in Madisonville, Texas before moving to Marshall, Texas where she lived for the last 3 years. Marjorie enjoyed playing bridge and having lunch and coffee with her friends in Madisonville. Her favorite pastime was working crossword puzzles. Marjorie also helped her husband, Charles at Crouch’s Store on the square in downtown Madisonville. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Madisonville where she also loved working and keeping records for the church.

Mrs. Crouch was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles Crouch and brother, Bob Baldwin.

Family members include her daughter, Claudia Goolsby & husband, Ken of Marshall, Texas; grandchildren, Casey Goolsby & wife, Jennifer of Longview, Texas, Kelli Rose & husband, Lane of Dallas, Texas; great grandchildren, Luke & Claire Goolsby of Longview, Texas and her brother, Dennis Baldwin & wife, Barbara of Englewood, Colorado.

The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff at Reunion Inn Assisted Living in Marshall, Texas and her wonderful caregivers, Besse and Thelma.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 102 S. McIver St., Madisonville, Texas 77864 or to the Marshall Homecare & Hospice, 111 E. Burleson St., Marshall, Texas 75670.

Funeral services have been set for 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 8, at the Madisonville Funeral Home Chapel. Dr. George Wilson of the First United Methodist Church will officiate. Interment will follow in the Madisonville City Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to service time on Friday.
