Biography
Graveside services for Louise R. Wood, age 86 of Centerville, will be held at 2 PM, Saturday, April 28, 2012 at the North Creek Cemetery in northeastern Leon County. Rev. Dean Ferguson, pastor of First Baptist Church in Centerville, will officiate the service. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 27, 2012 from 5 PM to 8 PM at the Walters Funeral Home in Centerville.
Louise R. Wood was born on March 8, 1926 in Crosby, Texas to Joe Robert & Pearl (Rosenbloom) Bush. She and her husband, Roy J. Wood, moved to Centerville in 1974 from Houston. She owned and operated the old “Hill Grocery Store” and was a member of First Baptist Church in Centerville. Mrs. Wood loved making quilts by hand and was an excellent cook. She was also a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. Mrs. Wood passed away Thursday, April 26, 2012 in Crockett, Texas. She is preceded in death by both of her parents; husband, Roy J. Wood and brother, Henry Bush.
Surviving family includes sons, Ron Wood & wife, Carol of Huntsville, Dudley Wood & wife, Diana of Lake Limestone, David Wood & wife, Susan of Tomball and Gary Wood & wife, Holly of Centerville; brothers, Joe Bush of Conroe and Clifford Bush of Spring; sisters, Myrtle Nussbaumer of New Iberia, Louisiana and Pearl of Crosby; grandchildren, Kenny Wood & wife, Georgetta, Rhonda Negard & husband, Jeff, Traci Klein & husband, Jeffrey, Terri Johnson & husband, Tommy, Lance Wood & wife, Lindsie, Jericka Foster & husband, Adam, Tiffany Wood & Jason Youell and Briana & Brock Beamer and great grandchildren, Kaleb & Delaney Wood, Caroline, James & William Klein, Claire & Lilah Johnson and Harlea Foster.
Pallbearers will be Brent Ryder, Alan Brown, Owen Dean Kornegay, Charlie Shafer, Bob Hickman & Lawrence Johnson. Honorary pallbearers will be Jeffrey Klein, Tommy Johnson & Gary Zalwolek.
